Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars: A superstar who was able to completely cross over from her country roots to become an enduring pop culture icon as well as conquering the world while doing it. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this success and pushed Swift into the stratosphere of superstardom. Swift's popularity grew over the course of her three subsequent albums, Red (2012) and 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017), and became firmly established in a genre where she belonged. She remained at the top of pop even when she scaled down her style in her sister albums folklore in 2020 and Evermore.
